Updates going into the 2012 Breeding season.
WELCOME! My name is Julio Masferrer and thank you for visiting Masferrer Canaries' website. It all started with our Gloster Canaries
and we have branched out to several other variety of Canaries. This page is dedicated to the breeding and exhibiting of Gloster Canary, Stafford Canary, Fife Canary, Red Factor Canary and new in 2012 Breeding program we have added the Raza Espaņola Canary.
My family and I enjoy keeping and breeding these wonderful birds and hopefully you will too. Our goal is to achieve the best standard with our Canaries. We pair and condition our Canaries to achieve the best possible results in our breeding room and on the show bench.
Over the last two years we added three new types of Canaries to our Bird room. The Fife Canary continues to amaze us. We had to stop the breeding of this type of this canary early because they are such great parents. They were filling up our flight cages rather quickly. A problem I don't mind having. We also started breeding Red Factor Canaries and Staffords. We received multiple judging scores of 90 points with our Red Intensive canaries and received a lot of positive feed back on the Size and Crest of our Stafford Canaries receiving a Novice Ribbon for our efforts.
New for this Year....(Project Raza) We will start breeding our first Raza Espaņola Canaries this up coming season. I ran into some issues initially with the size of the stock I was acquiring. It hasn't been easy acquiring this stock since there are a limited number of breeders in the U.S. that breed this miniature breed of canary with a standard maximum size of 11.5 centimeters. Finally one of my old and reliable friends in the fancy came to my rescue with some high quality stock to get us started. We are also working on bring in some Raza Espaņola Canaries from Spain in the late Summer period of 2012. This should help us dramatically improve the line and give us the opportunity to produce quality birds.
